Qualifications and Working Experience
- I am a Transport
Economist (PhD) and Regional Planner (Post Graduate) with more than 15
years of professional experience in the sectors of spatial planning and
transport economics in industrialized and developing countries.
- I worked seven years
as research assistant at the IWW, University of Karlsruhe, where I was
involved in many commercial studies on transport and the environment.
- My PhD thesis on
rural transport in Tanzania was published in 1996.
- In the same year I
was
nominated Deputy Executive Secretary of the International Forum for
Rural Transport and Development in London where I worked on rural
transport in Developing Countries.
- Returning to Germany,
I became Technical Advisor for transport with the German Technical
Cooperation GTZ.
- Presently I am
self-employed consultant, working on behalf of the World Bank, KfW,
GTZ, PTV, Dornier Consult, Bundesamt für Bauwesen und Raumordnung
(BBR), InWENT, and many others.
- I am teaching
Development Economics at the University of Karlsruhe.
- I have written more
than 25
publications, many of them in international journals. You may download some of them from this website.
